This Aging With Equanimity™ Yoga (AWE) workshop is perfect for women in all ages, shapes and sizes who want to remain active and vibrant, with an emphasis on women over 50.*

AWE Yoga is a mixture of gentle dynamic and restorative yoga poses along with a calming guided meditation followed by a facilitated discussion and yummy snack. The practice simultaneously promotes fitness and relaxation, leaving you more relaxed and energized. Poses, sequences and meditations are tailored towards the individual needs of the group.

Aging With Equanimity™ Yoga calms the mind and nervous system as well as stretching and toning muscles – all important ingredients to healthy aging. It provides a complete fitness combination for cardio, strength, balance, core training, and flexibility.

We are social beings, hard-wired for connection and aging isn’t meant to be a solitary activity. Join us for yoga, meditation and discussion.

Advance registration required (no drop-ins). Cost is $50 per person, or register with a friend and attend for only $40 each!

Join us in this peaceful and relaxing restorative yoga practice coupled with sound healing that will help you sleep and feel better. This gentle practice is designed to help you calm your nervous system, relax your mind and restore your body to optimal health and well-being. While holding the postures, vibrations and sounds from crystal singing bowls, chimes, and gongs will help facilitate a deeper meditative experience and helping to move energy up and down the body. By the end of this session, you will wake up refreshed, rested, and a whole new person. Beginners Yoga Workshop

Have you ever wanted to take a yoga class but was afraid to because you didn’t want to look silly for not knowing how? This Beginners Yoga Workshop is perfect for you!

We will go through a brief introduction on yoga and then learn the basic poses you are most likely to encounter in a yoga class. Each pose will be explored with an emphasis on safety, stability and alignment.

Aging With Equanimity Yoga Circle Workshop for Women on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 1:30 to 4:30 pm in San Jose.

There is a proverb that says: “it isn’t what happens to us that causes us to suffer; it’s what we say to ourselves about what happens.” The same is true for aging: Aging doesn’t have to cause us to suffer, it is what we tell ourselves about aging that can mean suffering or not.

Of course there are changes that happen to our bodies as we age. This is normal. But it doesn’t mean the end of living a full and active life. We continue to live by remaining engaged, connected and involved. One of the best ways to do this is through gentle yoga and mediation that is designed specifically for our aging bodies/selves.

So how old do you feel inside? Is it older or younger than you actually are? What did you parents teach you about aging? Did they embrace getting older or reject it? Did you receive positive, negative or mixed messages? So much of how we react to getting older can be from cultural, societal and most importantly family messages.

Embrace Autumn | A Yoga Equinox Workshop at Live Lotus

Sunday, September 24, 2017 | Presented by Heidi Sloss, RYT and Christine Pham, RYT. The fall equinox is an ideal time to cultivate mental, emotional and physical balance. It is a day for internal focus as we adjust from the summer to fall and align ourselves with the autumnal equinox – a day of almost equal light and darkness. Advanced registration is required.

Path to Stillness | Movement + Meditation Workshop Series

Saturday, August 26th, 2017 | Discover how to let go, focus, and find peaceful stillness through movement and meditation. In this two-hour workshop, we will combine energizing vinyasa flow sequences with different mindfulness practices. We will synchronize Pranayama (breath) with Asana (postures), opening up Prana (life energy), and then bliss out through guided meditation, finding our path to stillness. Each week we will present a different theme with different asanas and meditation styles.

Path To Stillness is perfect for people who are new to yoga and meditation as well as practitioners who looking for a yoga/meditation community. Only requirements are an open mind and an open heart.
